Merry Christmas

picture taken my by fabulous sister-in-law, Lynsey

My favorite aspect of Christmas this year...

A line from O Come All Ye Faithful

"Sing choirs of angels, sing in exultation, sing all ye citizens of heaven above."

citizens of heaven

that's who we are.

Although my earthly body is trapped here for now, because of Jesus coming to this earth as a baby and dying on the cross, my soul belongs to a new Kingdom. A beautiful Kingdom. A place so lovely, it's hard for me to imagine.

Like anyone displaced in a foreign land, this earthly Kingdom should feel foreign and odd to me. Strange and unsettling.

I want to be comfortable with being terribly uncomfortable here.

I've been asking God this season to help the truth of my citizenship to sink in.

I want to long for home.

Yearn for Christ's return.

Earnestly wait for God to come to earth again and right every wrong

restore all that has been broken

Philippians 3:20
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ

Wishing you a sweet time over the next few days as you spend time with family, and worship Jesus who no longer slumbers in a manger, but sits on the throne of the Kingdom believers call home.

Weary pilgrims rejoice!

May we be found eagerly waiting for our Savior from heaven.

Come thou long expected, Jesus.

please

come
