Want to Serve in Haiti?

I mentioned earlier this week that I was going to highlight a few ways you can be involved in the work we will be a part of in Haiti.  Don't think for a second that we're going to be the only ones sweating our faces off on a little island not very far away.  Oh no.  We have this huge vision of how God wants to use you...yes you...to be a part of this beautiful mosaic.

God has gifted His people in various ways.  We believe that God wants to use the talents and abilities of His people for His glory in Haiti.  Many of you are incredible doctors, nurses, artists, mothers, fathers, engineers, photographers, teachers, builders, and writers.  You love children.  You have a heart for adoption.  You long to serve the poor, care for the least of these and give a voice to the voiceless.  We want to serve as the bridge between you and the needs in Haiti.  A link.  A connection.

We are also thankful that each of you have a sphere of influence…people you know, people who listen to you, people who need to hear about the suffering in Haiti as well as what God is doing to restore this poverty-stricken country.  Our desire is to help you advocate for the people of Haiti within your circle of friends and family members.

We are compiling a database, a pool of talent if you will.  If you would like to help Haiti in some way, please send us an email at mosaicvillage@gmail.com and let us know how the Lord has gifted you to serve Haiti, and if you’d like to serve short term (mission trip) or long-term.  We want to help connect you with needs, job openings and service opportunities in our new neck of the woods.

Maybe you don't feel "gifted."  We don't agree.  Some of you may come to Haiti and go all "Dr House" on some Haitians.  Some of you may come and hold babies for a week.  No matter what you do in Haiti, we can guarantee...you won't come home the same person.  Haiti has a way of stowing away in your luggage.  Brings tears to my eyes thinking of what God wants to do through so many of you in Haiti and what God will do in you because of the people of Haiti.

If you would like to advocate for Haiti from right where you are, we’d love to pass information along to you about sustainable, gospel-centered organizations in Haiti who need people just like you supporting them and spreading the word about the work they are doing in Haiti.

Get excited.  You may be reading this post from the comfort of your home, but we believe...like all the way, 100% believe that God is inviting you out of your home and into a marvelous kingdom adventure for His glory.

We are inviting you to be a piece...a tessera...a part of something big and beautiful.  A marvelous mosaic made up of tiny, individual pieces that when admired as a whole looks like the gospel...like Jesus.
