Get a group of little kids together and play MASH.

Oh MASH...what childhood is complete without you?

What a thrill it is to count through the list...the kids leaning over, eager to know their future.

I was so impressed with everyone's MASH lists that I thought I would share them.  I laughed out loud several times at the kid's answers.

We were wanting to think of some more fun "categories." Got any creative ideas?  If so...share them with us!

So, Ashton will live in a house, married to Candace with three 5 year olds in Austin's Colony Park.    He will work for the Krusty Krab, drive a mini van with a TV in it, own 3 baby dragons and make 400,00 a year.  Sounds like a sweet life.

If MASH is right, and we all know it is, Hayden will live in a shack with Michelle Obama (I guess she didn't get anything from the divorce).  They will have 202 kids.  Let's hope, for the sake of Michelle's uterus that they adopt some of those babies.  Their shack will be located inside the Rainforest Cafe (where Hayden says they will eat a VOLCANO! every day.)  Hayden will spend his time as a luau dancer twirling around flaming sticks.  His boss will pay him a yearly wage of 150 dragons.  Hayden will ride a centaur to get around and have a pet manticore.  He obviously paid attention during mythology this year.  Hayden informed me that if this stuff doesn't come true, he's going to be disappointed.  I assured him that his father and I have always imagined his future looking very similar to MASH's predictions.

It seems our oldest son will grow up and marry a robotic vacuum cleaner, live in a shack (cause that's where weird people live) and have one child (I guess he adopted because even the new Roombas don't come with the birthing babies feature.)  His shack will be inside a Barnes and Noble, he'll be a soccer player and get paid in rubies, emeralds and diamonds.  Anson will use his three headed dog to get from point A to point B.  And...he'll have a pet werewolf (perhaps the reason why the ladies would never stay around...even with all those diamonds, rubies and emeralds around the house.)

Ah MASH...

You made our afternoon.  Lots of giggling.  Lots of creativity.  Lots of insight into what is in my children's minds.

If you're a teacher....I have found MASH to be a great writing prompt.  Just choose your categories (characters, setting, crisis, where the story ends, etc.) and then play MASH.  Have the kids do creative writing with MASH's answers.  The stories are always fun and creative.

So what are some other fun categories we could add to our list?

We want to play Ultimate Mash this week.  Maybe we'll even do an online version.  It's summer!  Let the fun begin.
