Haiti:::Delma 75:::7-8 a.m.

While people back home are sitting in deer stands, we're in Haiti setting up our protest stand.

We peep our American heads over the wall to see a sight that would be extremely foreign in the US.

dumpsters and tires burning in the street
people tearing down the Jude Celestin signs

I find myself thinking what a strange day this is.  School is canceled.   It's loud outside our wall.  My children are running around inside the yard catching bull frogs.  They entered the house moments ago and excitedly announced that they are "wildlife protectors" today.  Feet away from them, over a thick wall, tires are on fire and people are protesting.  This life is odd.

7-8 a.m.

It's loud outside, but it still feels safe.  For that we're grateful.

We've found that when the opportunity presents itself to laugh in Haiti...take it.

Protest or no protest...a big man on a little motorcycle is always funny.

I love that baby peeking up over the fence too! That made ME laugh!

I always see this on the news. How odd it must feel to experience it first hand. I mean, when I lived in Austin we had protests, but no one was burning tires in the streets.

Praying for you, my sister in Christ. I am thankful for your ministry of love in Haiti and what it has taught me. I pray he keeps you, your family and ministry safe.
