And it Shall be Called....

Harbor House.

Don't you love it?

Harbor:  a place of security...a refuge.

A safe place for these young mothers to grow, to be educated, and to learn about a loving God who longs to redeem, rescue, and heal every deep down chip in their souls.

An opportunity to be knit into a community of other older women...into families...each here to love these women and support them as they learn to be mothers, daughters, and sisters.

And let's not forget how much these spunky girls will teach us.  That's just how these things go.

Our hearts overflow with gratitude for each of you who have prayed over this new home, shopped, sent, and given.  We can't wait to receive the items for each room.  Thank you for loving these girls, for talking to God about them, and supporting what the Lord is doing through the Harbor House.

While we wait on the items so many of you purchased and mailed, lots of construction has been underway at the Harbor House.  Check out this dinning room/school table.

I can almost hear the loud, obnoxious, tee-totally contagious teen laughter that seems to erupt from our girls.  There will be lots of laughing (and okay, fine...probably arguing) around this table.  Being a teen drama queen unfortunately seems to cross all cultures.

I love a big table.  A big table says, "There's room for you.  Sit here.  You belong. You're part of this crazy family."  A big thank you to those who funded the table and those who actually built it while you were in Haiti.

There's lots of other projects in the works to make this house a home.  We'll post more pictures as each project is completed.

We're thankful Tara and Troy (and their 900, way too adorable kids) are back home in Haiti overseeing the Harbor House.  Tara has already shared a few updates about what's been going on with our girls.  Be sure to check her blog for Harbor House news.

Oh these girls...these girls...what love the Father has for them.  Whether you prayed, sent a shower curtain, or gave a chunk of change...we are thankful for the way that God has loved these young women (and their babies) through you.  Mesi!

If you're new to this blog (well, hello!) and want to get caught up on what we're dreaming for these ladies, you can find more information here.

A hundred years ago, when you were waiting to adopt, at one point there were twin girls in the works. Those girls went to another family, but we prayed for them many nights. And one of them, in my prayers, was named Harbor.

A reminder that God doesn't always work like we expect.

A reminder to pray for little girls that are growing up somewhere else.

WOO-HOO!!!
I love it! I love the name, I love the giant table, I love that pic with the squishy faced kiss, and I love those smiles.
What a wonderful home.

So wonderful. When we look at Peter in the Bible, we see that GOD uses the pieces of us to build the rock-strength of us, and the immovable rock of Christ is built on that.

Love it!

I remember! I had forgotten about Harbor, but now I remember.

Strange how God works.

I love you!
