Win a Free Vacation and Help Support Heartline
Whoa. Check it.
The Millions of Miles blog is raffling two vacation packages...one to Colorado (ew. too cold) and one to Florida (ah. perfect). All proceeds from the raffle go to two ministries (one being Heartline).
How fun. Do you mind heading over to their blog and reading about the vacation packages? Maybe $10 could land you or your family a bangin' vacation. Or, maybe $10 goes straight to Heartline. Either way...win-win.
Speaking of beaches...
The school where Aaron works is hosting a staff development weekend at the beach this weekend. So while Aaron is busy developing, the kids and I will be sitting on the beach being utterly amazed at the beauty (and trying to keep Hudson from drowning, running away, or eating random people's food). Since we've lived here we've never spent the night anywhere else in Haiti besides home. The kids are out of control excited.
I hear most of you are freezing back home. I'll try not to be too obnoxious with my tropical island photos. Don't be jealous. We lost power last night at 1 a.m. It was hot. Hard to sleep without fans because like I said...it's hot. We live on a major street. Haitians honk non-stop, no matter what time it is. How can it be too quiet and too loud at the same time? It was dark. Kids were cranky. This mom was mad. I found two of the four boys playing Legos in the hall at 3 a.m with a battery operated light. "It's too hot to sleep". I sent them back to bed. Unfortunately it was too hot for me to be patient. This is a normal part of our life. By now you'd think we'd quit being whiny babies about it...but you'd think wrong.
So when you see my awesome beach photos remember the electricity thing, okay? And the 3 a.m. Legos tomfoolery. I think that makes us even.
Don't forget to check out the raffle. What is it about a raffle that makes me want a snow cone? For some reason those two things are linked in my brain. Also, can I ask a favor? Will you help spread the word about the raffle? It's such a great, easy way to be a part of what's happening at Heartline.

you all are going to really enjoy your beach weekend! i can't wait to see your photos - share away, don't be shy. and thanks for letting me know about the raffle. i love heartline!
Heather! That photo is much too beautiful! Wow- all those shades of blue and green!
I like that you said you're too hot to be patient. I said that yesterday. Except about being cold. I've decided that being cold isn't so bad when you can get warm some time during the day. It's when you're in a drafty house all day that it starts to wear you out! I imagine the same can be said about the heat.
Ok- enough rambling and trying to justify why I'm so cranky! Have fun at the beach. And I'll spread the word about the raffle!
I thought the free vacation was going to be to Haiti...:)
Thanks so much for sharing this! We appreciate all the work you do!
Love this! Have a great weekend at the beach! Mwen kontan pou ou!
