Kirby and I dressed up like big dummies to go see Hairspray
If you're a regular around here you know my friend, Kirby. I first met this gal when she was a single, college girl. I mentored her. Whatever that means. I distinctly remember Kirby teaching me more than I taught her. Our relationship is still like that.
This girl is now a woman. She has three lovely kids and is married to one of favorite people.

I've mentioned her a lot on this blog over the years. Kirby is always coming up with something fun and creative to do with her kids.
She's brought to us the do-it-yourself play kitchen.
She introduced me to homemade ranch dressing. Then I introduced you to ranch dressing. Then all of our pants got tighter. And you still stick around here. You're the best. Have I mentioned that lately?
She has the neatest, most creative ideas for Advent activities for young children including a thorough Christmas book list to use if you want to count down to Christmas with books. A book countdown makes this nerdy mom smile.
She has the cutest Halloween idea. Who knew someone could even have one of those?
She's my jelly making buddy.
Birthday parties are her gift. I'll just include one link. The Circus Party. But you should check out every adorable birthday idea she has ever had. Cute, cute, cute.
She taught me how to make microwave popcorn in a brown paper sack. Revolutionized our popcorn eating forever more. The white chocolate popcorn recipe in this post also vamped up our popcorn eating experience. I made this for Valentine's Day this year. We ate it until we were sick. Not exaggerating.
She was the mastermind behind the Gender Reveal Party for our friend, Chelsea. Cutest idea ever for outing the gender of your baby.
She can throw some killer baby showers. Cutest themes you've ever seen.
Oh. And wedding showers. Check out this damask theme.
If you've enjoyed Kirby over the years (or maybe you're just meeting her today) can I ask a favor?
She's auditioning to be a Hopscout editor. If she gets the job she'll review lots of mommy ideas, toys, products, and everything else pertaining to mommydom. I love how Kirby's brain works, so believe me...her doing the hard work, testing out toys, ideas, etc. means we all have more time on our hands. Let Kirby do the work. We will all gain from it. That's pretty much how my entire relationship can be summed up with this girl anyway. Let's continue the tradition!
If you have a facebook account, could you vote for her today?
I have a million things to thank Kirby for in my life. But I'd go vote just because of that Ranch Dressing recipe she gave us. Homemade ranch. One of life's sweetest joys.
Here's the video in case you want to watch it. But even if you don't want to watch the video you could still vote. I think I've already given enough reasons why Kirby is the one we want on the job.

Here's the link. It takes ONE second to vote after you are signed into facebook. One second to thank Kirby for all her Kirbyness and fun inspiration over the years.
Please. Pretty please. I'm resorting to begging. Will you vote for Kirby? I so want her to get this new position. If she does, we'll even get more great ideas from her. See...this is really about me. And you. So please go vote and ask your friends to vote. Please? Please?
