New

Although this trip back to the states was unexpected, it has also been a sweet time of reflection and prayer.

It's been good to step away for a short time.  We missed wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Besides snuggling up deep with our friends and family, and doing some soul searching, we were also very busy trying to explain socks to Hudson, convincing him it's a good idea to wear them, and then eventually giving up on that notion completely.

We find ourselves filled with hope when we consider all the new this year will hold for us and so many of the people we know and love.  We trust all the new to a God who is bent on giving good even to people who rarely deserve it, who says there's really nothing new under the sun, and who wrote the pages of this coming year long before the world began.  We sit here staring at the very first page of the chapter titled "2012" eager to read what God has lovingly penned for each of us.

Heather - I have wanted to comment so many times, but our new computer does not show me the word verification, and I have not figured out how to get it to show it! (It showed up on this one - maybe Paul fixed it, although I haven't mentioned it to him) I love the joy in your eyes in the pictures you just posted. I've been praying for you and your family. Your desire to do exactly God's will for you is a delight to see. May 2012 be filled with PEACE for you and your family.

Been caught up in prayer for you and your family this season. Loved this post. What a peace to know that He has already written the story of 2012. We sit firmly in the palm of His hand, covered by His grace; knowing no matter where He brings us, He's already been there before us.

Silas shares Hudson's unnatural disdain for socks. Just put it on the list.
